In Croke Park

Croke Park has been the venue for the Dublin City Final of the Student Enterprise Awards for the last number of years and last year saw us set up stands on a very cold and snow filled day in February where competition was tense.  The atmosphere was added to as the Irish Rugby team were training in the snow whch gave a rare glimpse of the sacrifices sportsmen make for their game.  Everybody taking part on the day had a bird's eye view of activities on the pitch and many were distracted!

Students from all over Dublin competed in three sections; Junior, Intermediate and Senior.  They had thoughout the year completed a business plan on which they were judged as well as on interview, product and display.

Winners and runners up were chosen in each section as well as an Endeavour Award and Best Display Award in each section.

WINNERS ON THE DAY

Senior Section Winners - Muckross Park

Intemediate Section Winners - Loreto College, St. Stephens' Green

Junior Winners - Colaiste Eoin

On the day there was a quiz and other fun prizes which added to the entertainment and the day  concluded with a visit from the Lord Mayor of Dublin and a presentation by Brody Sweeney who viewed each stand.  RTE's The Den were present when the awards were being presented and ensured a very exciting atmosphere on the day.

This year is beginning to hot up with schools booking workshops and entrepreneur visits to ensure their students are well prepared for the work involved and the publicity on the day.  If your school would like to get involved then call for a booking time.

We look forward to meeing all participants in March 2010.
