Q. If I have missed the October date for registering interest is it too late for my school.
A. We operate in a flexible manner and if for some reason you had difficulty in registering you school as can happen from time to time we will accept your registration of interest within a reasonable time - get in otuch with our schools co-ordinator, Serena Bryans at 086 812 4106 who will be happy to assist you.
Q. Do you have to know what teams will be entering the final when you apply for the Awards?
A. No, at this stage you just have to indicate that you are interested in entering. We use the information so that we can see what level of support you might require and so that we can best facilitate your schools efforts. The form can be downloaded from this website and you may fax it back, post it in or enter online. As soon as we get your form we will contact you to see what we can do to support your endeavours.
Q. What information do I need to provide at this stage?
A. The only information we need at this stage is the school name, contact details and what categories you are likely to enter so that we can predict numbers. it is useful if you enter your email address and mobile telephone number as this makes contact easier. You don't have to have selected the teams before you send in this information - the class number is often the starting point we receive.
Q. We usually enter other awards. Is this likely to disqualify us from The Student Enterprise Awards?
A. Not at all - you can still enter The Student Enterprise Awards. Winning other awards does not guarantee success however, as the criteria may be different in each awards scheme. in many schools students enter several awards and it is surprising and encouraging to see them gain confidence as they go from one to the other.
Q. Even if you do not enter the awards can you avail of the workshops, entrepreneur visits and enterprise encounters
A. Yes all services are available to all schools and we would be delighted to deliver workshops within your timetable as we recognise that time constraints are very difficult in the classroom situation
Q. I am finding it hard to motivate the students to come up with new ideas or approaches; can I get help with this?
A. Yes, you would be surprised at how a workshop helps to get the message across to your students in a different way. We can tailor one to meet your requirements if you let us know in advance what message you would like to emphasise. Teachers have told us that very often, a person coming in from the outside can say the same thing as a teacher and elicit different results from students.
Q. Where can I find out more about the help and supports you offer with this programme?
A. There are several ways in which you can access assistance in relation to the Student Enterprise Awards - you can call us directly or contact our Schools Co-Ordinator Serena Bryans at 086 8124106/8855162
